Raise your hand if you have ever felt personally victimized by dry skin, eczema, stretch marks, scars, discoloration, or a dull complexion. I think most of us can identify with at least one of those ailments. This natural body butter recipe will help with ALL of these things and have your skin looking and feeling amazing!
So what’s the big secret? By using natural ingredients, you eliminate the harsh chemicals found in most “cures” for skin problems that could make them worse. The oils and butters in this mixture are known to nourish, strengthen, repair, and moisturize the skin. This will rid your skin of dryness and dull appearance, reduce the visibility of stretch marks and scars, and leave you with a more even skin tone when used over time. So let’s jump into the recipe! It’s so quick and easy, you don’t need to be a certified mixologist to get this one right.
6.5 oz of cocoa butter with jojoba oil
4 oz of Shea butter
1/2 cup of coconut oil
2 tbs of avocado oil
2 tbs vitamin E oil
*Add a few drops of your favorite essential oils to create a customized scent. Add more butter for a thicker mixture, more oil for a thinner mixture.
Place butters and coconut oil into a microwave safe container. Heat until melted. Add in other oils, and stir until mixed evenly. Place your container in the fridge for about 1 hour. The mixture should be thicker than when heated but not completely solid. Use a mixer to whip the ingredients until they are fluffy like butter. Place into an air tight container. Use glass, like a Mason jar, if possible.
HOW TO USE
This product works best when coupled with a healthy skin care routine. Wash your body with a natural soap, exfoliate weekly, and apply the body butter after lightly patting off excess water with a soft towel.
Also be sure to eat a diet high in fruits and veggies, and drink plenty of water. Treat your body well and it will show you the same love!
