This is probably the weirdest DIY I’ve ever tried…But it WORKS! Most antiperspirants and deodorants contain harmful chemicals. Antiperspirants also plug up your sweat glands. We use them to get that effect, but our bodies need to sweat in order to release some toxins and impurities. Sweating also supports proper immune function, prevents diseases related to toxic overload, kills certain viruses and bacteria and cleans the skin’s pores, reducing blackheads and acne. So you have to ask yourself…is it healthy for me to stop one of my body’s natural processes for releasing toxins?
This DIY is NOT an antiperspirant, but it is a deodorizer. That means it won’t keep you from sweating, but it keeps you smelling fresh all day.
4 oz spray bottle
4 oz of grain alcohol (ex: Everclear or Graves)
10 drops of your favorite essential oil for each oz of alcohol (optional)
Mix up your deodorizer in the spray bottle. Apply to clean armpits when needed. Allow the mist to air dry before getting dressed for max benefits. I like to apply this mixture at the beginning of the day. It typically lasts all day, even through my evening work outs. The “secret” is that the alcohol kills odor causing bacteria on the skin’s surface leaving you fresh and without must. 🙂
