Good morning, Tribe! I hope everyone’s day got off to a great start. As you can see in the title, today we’re talking about my healthy morning routine. Starting your day off right will help you stay focused & on track to achieve your goals. So let’s get to it!
When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is give thanks for a new day. It’s easy to complain because it’s early and I’m still sleepy, but saying/thinking positively first thing in the morning really helps me focus on what’s important and get ready to tackle my day.
After I roll out of bed, I head to the bathroom. I like to wash my face with Dr. Bronner’s Tea Tree soap. I pat my face dry and tone with aloe vera gel. Then I moisturize with Rosehip oil. My skin care routine is all natural and simple. It refreshes my skin and gives me a nice glow.
Eliminate Morning Breath
Next on my list: brush those pearly whites. Oral hygiene is so important to overall health! The status of your mouth effects more than you probably care to know. Because of this, I use a natural toothpaste from Jason. I’ve only tried the Sea Fresh flavor, and I haven’t changed because I love it so much. It’s fluoride free and contains ingredients to keep my teeth healthy and white.
Green Tea Pick-Me-Up
Now it’s time to head to the kitchen. Before I get started making my breakfast (or simply assembling it if I’ve meal prepped), I heat up some filtered water for my tea. My favorite tea right now is the Green Tea Blueberry Slim Life by Yogi Tea. *Disclaimer* This tea is not going to make you lose weight. I drink it for the antioxidant properties and the blueberry flavor which is much tastier than plain green tea in my humble opinion. I don’t add any sweeteners. Just let it brew and enjoy.
Breakfast of Champions
I like to keep my breakfast simple, especially if I’m working out in the A.M. One of my favorite pre-workout breakfasts is oat meal! Right now, I’m obsessed with making my oats a healthier version of McDonald’s…I’m getting pretty close. Haha Here’s the recipe:
1 cup of cooked oats
1/2 cup of almond milk
2 diced apples
1 tablespoon of raisins
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
Work Up A Sweat
The final event of my morning is a great workout. I have an entire category dedicated to workouts here on LifexErin. One of my favorite routines is WOD #6 on the treadmill. You can stick to the script or throw in your own variations and modifications. Just be sure to work up a sweat!
I hope you enjoy my healthy morning routine! It really does get my day off to a wonderful start. Comment below and let me know what your morning rituals are 🙂
