Classic Miso Soup

Ok guys, I’m on a roll with the soups this season. Next up is a classic miso recipe I found on Minimalist Baker.

4 cups water

1/2 cup chopped green onions

1/4 cup firm tofu *optional

3-4 tbs white miso paste

1 sheet nori (cut into small rectangular pieces)


  1. Pour water into medium sized pot, bring to a low simmer.
  2. Add nori and allow to simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  3. While nori simmers, mix miso paste with hot water to smooth it out and avoid clumping. Add miso paste to soup pot.
  4. Add remaining ingredients to pot and cook for about 5 minutes. Add salt if needed.

This was so delicious I ate it before remembering to snap a picture! It was the perfect appetizer for my sushi
