Setting Goals & Intentions

Happy New Year! ❀

SET GOALS THAT MATTER

When it comes to writing down your goals, make sure they’re actually important to YOU. This is not the time to be a people pleaser or live out someone else’s dream for your life. Think about what you really want to do/accomplish this year. Be honest with yourself and commit to working on those things.

BE SPECIFIC

After you decide what your goals are, take time to get into the nitty-gritty of it all. Dissect each goal and write out the specific details. How much time will this take? Are there any prerequisites you should visit first? What resources will you need, etc? If you want to reach your goals, you have to know what you’re working towards AND how you plan on getting there. Take your time here.

DON’T BE REALISTIC

This may sound silly, but trust me. I’ve mentioned before that I’m a big dreamer. To no surprise I love writing out my goals! It’s exciting for me, but step 2 (be specific) is usually when I start to chicken out. When looking at a big goal and working backwards to write out the details, things start to seem like a little too much. I mean really…Do I have what it takes to take over the world??? Β πŸ˜‚

I’m a living witness. Anything that is truly meant for you will work out if you put in the work and believe. Even if your goals start to feel overwhelming during the planning process, don’t back down. Assuming you followed step 1, these goals are important to you. Let’s step back for a second, breathe, and regroup. You can do this…one step at a time. Hold your ground and don’t water down your goals to be more “realistic”. Anything is possible.

I really hope these quick tips help you to reset your focus and achieve your goals this year! Leave a comment below if you have any tips for goal setting and what works for you πŸ™‚
